The Bell Box is designed to work with our SimpliSafe system and requires a Base Station (sold separately) to function. It connects to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz) and the SimpliSafe App. Be sure to update the Base Station when you see the gear icon on the Keypad; or by going into the Keypad in ‘System Settings’ and selecting 'Check for Updates.'

Yes. SimpliSafe is engineered to outsmart attempts to disable your system, with battery and cellular backup that keep you connected to monitoring (if you have a professional monitoring plan) even if an intruder cuts your power or takes down your Wi-Fi. As the Bell Box is battery powered, the red LED light will continue to flash and the siren will still sound if a sensor is triggered.

When a sensor is triggered, such as an Entry Sensor or a Glassbreak Sensor, the Bell Box siren will sound and the red LED lights will begin to flash. This siren will alert neighbours and passersby that there is an incident at your home. If you have a monitoring plan, it will also help police identify the home where there’s an incident. The outdoor siren will not sound if a SimpliSafe Water Sensor, Temperature Sensor or Smoke Detector are triggered.

This outdoor siren is winter- and rainstorm-ready. Designed for weather extremes, the Bell Box works in snow, rain, and temperatures ranging from -25°C to 60°C and is weather resistant with an IP rating of 55.

The Bell Box can be mounted almost anywhere on the outside of your home. We recommend placing it in a location that’s highly visible to anyone passing by on the street. Be sure to have a helper and a sturdy ground below in the event you need a ladder for installation and battery replacement.

Yes. You can adjust the loudness of the external siren in the SimpliSafe App or on the Keypad. There are four choices: high, medium, low, and off.

You can set your Alarm Siren Duration for your entire system through the app or Keypad. The default is set to 4 minutes, but you can set your alarm to go off for as long as 8 minutes if that is preferred.

Once your alarm is triggered, your Base Station, Bell Box, and any other Extra Sirens will start to sound. You can cancel an alarm manually through the Keypad, Key Fob, or your app. Please see ‘How SimpliSafe Works’ to learn more about how to cancel an alarm during the monitoring process.
